Earnling Privacy Policy
Effective date: June 24, 2026
Earnling ("Earnling," "we," "us," or "our") is operated by Methodwise LLC. This policy explains what information Earnling collects, how it is used, and the choices you have. Earnling is an app that helps young makers track what they spend on supplies and what they earn from sales, with a parent area for reviewing the numbers together.
We designed Earnling to collect as little as possible, and to keep children's information out of it entirely. A parent or guardian, not a child, holds any account.
The short version
- Earnling works fully on the device and does not require an account.
- A parent can optionally create an account with an email and password to back up data and sync it across their own devices.
- We do not collect personal information from children.
- We do not show advertising and we do not use third-party analytics or tracking in the app.
- We do not sell or rent your information to anyone.
Information we collect
Information a parent provides to create an account (optional). If a parent chooses to create an account, we collect an email address and a password. The account is intended to be held by a parent or guardian who is 18 or older.
Business tracking information entered in the app. Earnling stores the information entered to track a young maker's activity. This includes product names, sale amounts and quantities, a free-text note for where a sale happened (for example, "craft fair"), supply costs and descriptions, and the dates of those entries. This is business tracking data, not personal information about a child.
Information we do not collect. Earnling does not ask for or collect a child's name, photograph, date of birth, precise location, contacts, or device identifiers for advertising. We do not use location services. We do not track activity across other apps or websites.
How we use information
We use the information above only to:
- Provide the app's core features.
- Save data on the device and, if a parent has created an account, back it up and sync it across that parent's own devices.
- Maintain and secure the parent account.
- Respond to support requests a parent sends us.
We do not use the information for advertising, and we do not build profiles of users.
Children's privacy
Earnling is intended to be used by children under the supervision of a parent or guardian. Consistent with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), we do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children. Any account is created and controlled by a parent or guardian, and the business tracking information entered in the app is not personal information about a child.
If you are a parent or guardian and you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us at hello@earnling.co and we will delete it.
How data is stored and protected
Earnling stores data on the device first, so the app works offline and your information stays on the device unless you choose to create an account.
If a parent creates an account, the app's data is backed up to and synced through Supabase, a third-party cloud service we use as our backend. That data is associated with the parent's account, transmitted over encrypted connections (HTTPS), and protected so that each account can access only its own data. Passwords are handled securely by our authentication provider and are not stored by us in readable form.
No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your information.
Third-party services
- Supabase provides the authentication and cloud database that store a parent account's synced data. Supabase processes this data on our behalf.
- Apple App Store and Google Play distribute the app. If Earnling offers any optional paid feature in the future, the purchase is processed by Apple or Google. Earnling does not receive or store your payment card details.
These providers maintain their own privacy policies governing how they handle data.
Sharing of information
We do not sell or rent your information. We do not share it with advertisers, and Earnling contains no third-party advertising or third-party analytics. We may disclose information if required to comply with the law or to protect the rights and safety of our users.
Retention and deletion
Information entered in the app stays on the device until it is deleted in the app or the app is removed.
If a parent has created an account, the synced data is kept while the account is active. A parent can request deletion of their account and all associated cloud data at any time by emailing hello@earnling.co, and we will delete it. Deleting the account removes the synced copy from our backend.
Your choices and rights
You can use Earnling without an account, keeping all data on the device. If you have an account, you can request access to, correction of, or deletion of your data by contacting us. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under laws such as the GDPR or CCPA, including the right to access or delete your information. We honor those requests as required by law.
About this website (earnling.co)
This section applies to our marketing website, earnling.co, which is separate from the Earnling app described above. The app's data practices are unchanged; this explains what happens when you visit the site or join the waitlist before launch.
Waitlist signups. If you enter your email to join the waitlist, we store it so we can tell you when Earnling launches and offer early access. We use Supabase to store the signup and Customer.io to manage the list and send those emails. You can unsubscribe at any time, or ask us to delete your address, by emailing hello@earnling.co.
Website analytics and advertising. Unlike the app, this website uses third-party tools to understand traffic and measure interest: Google Analytics (page views and waitlist events) and the Pinterest Tag (to measure signups that come from Pinterest and to build advertising audiences). These tools set cookies or use similar identifiers. We do not send your email address to Google. We may share a securely hashed version of your email with Pinterest ("Enhanced Match") so it can attribute a signup to its ads; that hashing happens in your browser.
Your choices on the website. You can limit or block this tracking with your browser's privacy settings, a tracking or ad blocker, the Google Analytics opt-out, and your Pinterest ad-personalization settings. Blocking these tools does not affect your ability to join the waitlist.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the app changes. When we do, we will revise the effective date above and post the updated policy at this page. Significant changes will be communicated where appropriate.
